Mr. Arda Ulutas the new Consul General of Turkish Consulate in Hyderabad, called on the Honourable Minister of Industries Sri Jupally Krishna Rao garu He had taken charge in November 2015.
The new Consul General to introduce himself personally and discuss areas of cooperation in detail called on the Minister, He informed that Turkey has around 77 million population and that they were looking in the potential areas of Construction, Housing (Social Housing ) Metro, Railway system etc. And evinced keen interest to bring a mixed delegation of Turkish construction union and Exporters union and several other unions in focus areas to meet the officials in Telangana to explore the possibilities of working together in several fields.
He informed that there were several small and Medium sized companies who had counterparts in India and that they would be interested to come and meet the officials in this area of SME’s and MSME’s. The consul informed that they would like to start with the MSME’s first.
The Minister welcomed the Consul and elaborated on the new Industrial policy TS-iPASS which was launched recently. The minister expressed the desire that both the countries could work closely in various fields. A copy of the Industrial Policy was presented to the Consul.
The Consul stated that they were looking in the fields of imports and exports. He also Informed that Turkey was pursuing the project of having direct flights to Hyderabad. He informed that the country was interested in making Hyderabad a direct destination which could connect to the south. Now there are no direct flights and all flights are routed through Delhi or Mumbai.
He also informed about the readiness to sign the sister cities agreement with Telangana. He extended a warm welcome to the officials to visit the consulate. He thanked the Minister for meeting him at such a short notice and said they would like to build a strong relationship with Telangana.
